Are you a Twitter User?

I’ve set up a twitter account specially for this blog, at @JustProfs. If you follow the account you will not only get updates on the blog post and comments, but also hints and tips to use twitter more effectively. I’ll also be sharing useful, relevant information from the people I follow on Twitter too.

Twitter is a great conversational medium, in particular because it is so open and searchable. This makes it simple to find and converse with people who interest you, on topics you choose.

I’ve been using twitter for over a year now and have nearly 4000 followers on my own account, @SuButcher. I use twitter to talk to dozens of my contacts every day, catch up on news and current events and share useful information.

Follow me on twitter here for @JustProfs updates and here for @SuButcher’s updates. Whatever suits!

If you’re new to Twitter

Getting to know how to use twitter can be a little daunting, so if you’re a new twitter user, don’t worry, we’ll be looking at twitter on this blog and if you want to try it, guiding you through the process. Before you dive in and dedicate any amount of time to an internet tool though, its important to work out whether it is the right tool for you, so we’ll be looking into that as well.

Twitter users – how are you finding twitter? Has it been right for you?

What have you got out of it and what advice would you give to a beginner?
