About This Blog and Su Butcher
This blog was inspired by a number of the people I have met online over the last few years, and in particular by the professional people who have approached me in the last few months, since I gave a talk at the RIBA about ‘Taking Your Network Online’.
Using the internet for both marketing and business development is growing in the professional sphere, but sometimes its difficult to know where to start. This blog hopes to be a good starting place for you. As it grows I will be
- sharing a range of resources which will help you find your feet;
- raising and discussing issues which online networking professionals should consider; and I hope
- building a community of likeminded professional people who would like to help you with your professional networking.
After all, networking is other people helping you. (~ Andy Lopata)
So please join in, let me know what you want to hear about and share any ideas for how we can make this blog a valuable resource for new online networking professionals.
About Su Butcher
I’ve been networking online for over five years, which is about the time I’ve had my son.
Networking face-to-face is a very laborious business, and when I became a mum it was imperative that I found a more efficient way to do it which didn’t involve getting up and leaving the house at 5am or coming home after 9pm. So I took a course in networking and shortly after had my first initiation to networking on the internet.
You can find me in these places online:
You can join me on twitter, and join this blog’s account on twitter too.
I do have other twitter accounts – I have an account for the Architects Twitter League and an account where I follow (and help find) people in the UK Construction industry.
If we have already had a constructive conversation you are welcome to connect with me on Linkedin – check out my construction and property groups on Linkedin via my profile there, perhaps they will be of interest to you too.
I’m also a member of the Architects, Engineers and Constructors Network.
You can also call me on 07815 935 736 but please don’t abuse my telephone number – genuine enquiries only please.
My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
However you choose to connect with me, please do get in touch and let me know how I might be able to help you. As long as you’re not trying to sell to me direct (I get plenty of emails like that as it is!) I’ll be happy to keep in touch.
